Learning Journey & Events

Entry Point

Entry Points are exciting events at the beginning of each new topic, designed to excite and enthuse children, and generate more engagement (and more learning throughout the topic). They can last anywhere between 1 hour and an entire day.

Exit Point

Exit points occur at the end of each topic and are a fantastic opportunity for children to showcase their learning to parents, and other learners and teachers across the school.

Learning Showcases

Learning Showcases take place most Friday mornings, from 8.30-9.00am. Teachers sign up as and when they want to, often at the end of a topic (as it could be considered an Exit Point, demonstrating their knowledge and understanding of a Big Idea). Parents from the leading class are invited to attend.

A Nature-Nurtured Learning Experience

At SGSIS, students benefit immensely from daily playtime in the school's expansive 7,500m² green space. This immersive experience in nature fosters a deep connection to the environment, promotes physical and emotional well-being, and sparks curiosity and creativity. As students explore, discover, and interact with the natural world, they develop a strong foundation for lifelong learning and appreciation for the planet.

A Stimulating Learning Environment

The standard facilities room for primary students at SGSIS is designed to foster a stimulating and engaging learning environment. Equipped with age-appropriate furniture, interactive learning materials, and ample natural light, the room provides a comfortable and inspiring space for young children to explore, discover, and grow. The facilities support a variety of activities, from sport fields, science labs, music and dance room, art and crafts to language development and sensory exploration, ensuring a well-rounded and enriching educational experience.

International Dedicated Teachers

At SGSIS, our dedicated and experienced teachers are committed to nurturing early years students with care, patience, and enthusiasm. They create a safe and supportive learning environment where children can feel confident to explore, ask questions, and express themselves freely. Our teachers use engaging and age-appropriate teaching methods to foster a love of learning and prepare students for future success.
